2019 Summer School (High School)

Summer School
The District is offering an online digital summer school program from June 17 through July 26 for Groveport Madison Madison High School students. There is no cost to participate in our online digital summer school program, nor are there any supplies or materials to purchase. The only thing needed will be access to the Internet. Students will work from home or elsewhere using District-provided Chromebook computers. Students will have access to complete coursework 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will complete their online lessons at their own pace, wherever and whenever they want. A teacher from the high school will monitor the student’s progress online and he/she will offer assistance to the students, as needed. 
Courses Offered:
  • Core academic classes (English, Mathematics, Science, History) *
  • Physical Education
  • Health Education
    (Students can take two half-credit courses at the same time)

* Students cannot take a course if it is their first time taking the course if it is AIR tested (example: freshmen cannot take English 10 if not previously taken the course.

Final Exams (Mandatory Requirement)
Students can choose to take their final exam on either July 25 or July 26. The student will coordinate his/her final exam schedule with the online instructor(s). Final exams will be completed at Groveport Madison HS. Once the final exam is completed, the student will return the Chromebook computer. Below are the times for final exams: 
  • July 25 - 6-8 p.m.
  • July 26 - 9-11 a.m.
(Exams may also be completed during office hours weekly, but must be coordinated with your online instructor).

Mandatory Summer School Orientation Meeting

Time:  6-7 p.m.
Where:  Groveport Madison High School Auditorium, 4475 S. Hamilton Rd.,  Groveport, OH 43125
Purpose:  Students and parents/guardians will meet and talk with our online instructors. At 6:00 p.m., we will hold a brief tutorial about completing the coursework using the Chromebook computer. Any student that has not completed coursework through Edoptions Academy or Platoweb are highly encouraged to attend the tutorial at 6:00 pm. The tutorial is not mandatory, but is highly encouraged.
Note:  Chromebook computers must be picked up from 6-7 p.m.

Our instructors want students to have a good summer school experience and to complete the necessary courses that are needed for graduation.
