High School News
Students represented GMHS at the Ohio Capital Conference Academic League Honor Choir
Several Choir students represented Groveport Madison High School in the Ohio Capital Conference Academic League Honor Choir on November 8th. The students spent the entire day in rehearsals with over 200 students from other schools, and then performed Carl Orff's "Camina Burana" on the stage in Weigel Hall at The Ohio State University. They did a fantastic job!

High School Artists and Scholars
Two of our students, Doroteo Arreola Carrera and Cherub Clarke, have been selected as two of the twenty-eight students in the county by Franklin County Board of Commissioners as High School Artists and Scholars. They will be attending a ceremony at the Franklin County Courthouse to be recognized by the Board and the Greater Columbus Arts Council for their outstanding work. Please be sure to congratulate these two students if you happen to see them!

Online Tutoring Now Available
Online tutoring is available for all students during the first semester of this year.

Depending on the success of this program, it may be extended into the second semester as well. Both a Math and English teacher from our staff will be working with students who enroll to select resources that will best help them to improve their skills in these areas. An enrollment form was sent home with all students, but there are additional forms available in the main office from Mrs. Fasone. Don’t let this academic opportunity pass you by!

2018 Graduation Plans Announced
Graduation for the Class of 2018 will be held on Friday, May 25, at 7 p.m.

With the addition of the new synthetic turf athletic field, we are planning to hold graduation exercises in Cruiser Stadium. Having graduation “at home” was a time-honored tradition for many years at Groveport Madison High School. We are very pleased to rekindle that tradition as we prepare to open the new high school.

To assist in answering questions regarding the graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2018, we have developed the following list of Frequently-Asked Questions. We hope this information helps to address any questions or concerns students and/or their families may have regarding this year’s graduation plans.

Urgent and Important Information for Parents and Students of the Class of 2018
To Parents and students of the class of 2018:
For students in the class of 2018 ONLY, Ohio has established alternate options for those students who are at-risk of not earning the 18 required end-of-course exam points. These options are only for students in the class of 2018. Curriculum requirements and the minimum 20 credits are not affected or changed in any way by these options.

Important Reminder Regarding Payments to the District
We want to make sure that when you send a check to the District that we can process that check properly. Please ensure that all checks and money orders are payable to Groveport Madison Schools and not to the individual school buildings.

You may include the student’s name or student ID in the memo line, but the payable section of the check or money order MUST be made out to Groveport Madison Schools.

Harder also competed in Accounting Applications and placed in the Top 10 at the state competition March 18, 2017 in Columbus.

New Immunization Requirements
Attention parents of incoming seventh and twelfth graders. With spring break only a week away, now is a good time to set up an appointment with your doctor to schedule required immunizations that your child will need to have before he/she can start school next year.
