A Message from the Superintendent
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! I’m very pleased to report that this has been one of the smoothest starts to a new school year that I’ve witnessed as a superintendent. While I'm not saying it was flawless, I can say that it has gone exceedingly well. Our biggest challenge to date is overcrowding at several of the buildings. With several of our schools already at capacity, some new students had to be moved to another nearby school. Fortunately, our schools are located in close proximity to one another. Nevertheless, we understand that parents want their children to be as close to home as possible. Over the course of the next few months we will be looking at potential short- and long-term solutions to accommodate increasing enrollment.
Football / Large Event Parking Plans Announced
With the construction of the new high school taking up a large portion of the south parking lot, the District has been working with Groveport Police to develop a plan to accommodate large-event parking, including all home football games. The focus of the plan is to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians and to effectively manage the flow of traffic in the area.
08-25-16 Construction Update
Work on the new high school construction project is now very evident, as exterior walls are being erected very quickly. At present, nearly all of the perimeter walls of the main and auxiliary gymnasiums have been constructed, and work is well underway on the remainder of the athletic wing, as well as with the dining commons, and auditorium. Construction crews are working from the northernmost portion of the building and moving southward. Walls will soon start going up for the three academic wings, which are located on the south end of the building.
Ohio Department of Education Survey
The Ohio Department of Education is seeking input from parents and District staff members as it works to develop the state’s Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan. In an effort to reach out to more Ohioans about these important issues, the department created a survey to get feedback on several focus areas within ESSA.
High School Supplies
There are no specific school supply lists for the high school. At the start of the year, and as is necessary, high school students may receive a list of supplies that are needed for specific courses.

2016 Back-to-School Immunization Clinics
Required childhood immunizations are available to those who have no insurance for a $15.00 fee per shot. However, uninsured children will not be turned away due to an inability to pay.
