ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical – You must have a current "MEDICAL ELIGIBILITY FORM" (part of the OHSAA Pre-participation Physical Evaluation) uploaded on FinalForms to participate in any softball-related activity – camp, practice, scrimmage, or game. A physical is good for one calendar year. Well-visit paperwork DOES NOT count as a physical. The athlete must have an OHSSA physical form signed by a doctor.

  • Physical linkhttps://ohsaaweb.blob.core.windows.net/files/Sports-Medicine/2024-25PPE(English).pdf

  • FinalForms – the athlete and a parent/guardian must sign all forms.

  • Mandatory Code-of-Conduct – This will be posted on the Gocruisers.org website.

  • Grades—Current 7th- and 8th-grade students must have received passing grades in at least four (4) classes in the preceding grading period. All 6th-grade students can participate in fall athletics in their 7th-grade year.

  • Age – If you turn 15 before Aug. 1st, you are not eligible to play.

PHYSICAL

  • You must have a current physical uploaded to FinalForms to participate in any Winter Clinic.

BEING A PART OF THE TEAM

  • Coming to open gyms DOES NOT GUARANTEE you make the team.

  • Behavior—You no longer represent yourself; you represent your teammates, the coaches, the middle schools, and the school district. Your behavior needs to be above average expectations. Your behavior should be as if you are already on the team. There will be a 3-strike system for behavior before you are asked not to return to open gyms and cannot try out for the team.

  • Groveport Madison Schools has a Random Drug Testing program for all grades 7-12 extracurricular participants. Your child may be randomly drug tested throughout the school year.

  • Clinics, practices, and home games occur at Middle School Central, 751 Main St., Groveport, OH.

  • There is no pay-to-play fee, but each player is required to purchase their uniform (usually around $50 total)

DISCIPLINE

  • The coach will handle each discipline issue on an individual basis.

PARENTS:

  • Parents, if you have a concern or question, please set an appointment with the coach. Please do not approach the coach during or after a game.

  • Transportation – THIS IS IMPORTANT! You need to have an on-time ride after practices and games. (You are responsible for having a ride on time daily) Please check the calendar for practice ending times.

  • Practices and home games occur at Middle School Central, 751 Main St., Groveport, OH.
