PTO Welcome Letter

Dear Madison Elementary Parents,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Madison Elementary School. For those of you who are unfamiliar with us, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our children. The PTO works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents.

Madison Elementary PTO would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning families. Working together we can truly make a difference at Madison Elementary. Every positive imprint we make on our children can go a long, long way. If you are able to give some time, day or evenings, please join us! Many hands make the job easier!

What does the PTO do?

We plan and organize events such as Carnival & School Dance just to name a few. All of these events help raise funds to support our school. We provide classroom supplies and teaching aids to staff and students.

What ways can a Parent volunteer?

Anyone with a child at Madison Elementary is invited to be part of all the volunteer opportunities. Here are some ways to get involved:

Our group meets every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6pm to discuss school programs, plan fundraisers and events, and share ideas. This is a great way to find out what is happening at our school.

Donate items for Raffle Sales, Teacher Appreciation week, etc.

Commit to two (2) hours of volunteer time during the year.

Participate with your family in our Family Fun events and enjoy our school community.

Donate "Cash for Education" items like: Box Tops, Shoparoo and Kroger Community Rewards.

We in the PTO believe that it is the ultimate importance that parents do everything we can to enhance the learning environment of our children as they truly are our future. It will take all of us working together to ensure that this happens. We look forward to getting to know you and hope we do all we can to make you feel welcome!

Help us Earn Money for the School!

Dear Madison Elementary Parents, Box Tops Did you know for every Box Top collected, Madison Elementary receives $.10? Although that may seem small, it quickly adds up, however, we can’t do It WITHOUT YOU!! PTO is collecting Box Tops and there a couple ways to send them in: • Taped or glued to a Collection Sheet (attached) • Cut and placed into a baggie Box Tops are due to the teacher or should be placed in the Minion Trash bin located inside the school office by the 4th Monday of every month. We ask however you send them in, please be sure to include your students name and teacher name so they are getting credit. In order for the school and teacher to receive credit, each Box Top must have a visible, valid expiration date and product code. Each month, the student who turns in the most Box Tops will get to pick a prize from the PTO Treasure Box. At the end of the school year, a pizza party will be given to the class who turns in the most Box Tops. You can also download the Box Top app in your App Store. The awesome thing about the app is not only does the school get Box Top points from you scanning your receipt, but you can still clip off the Box Top from the participating item and turn it in so your students’ room gets credit!! Shoparoo Madison Elementary can earn money from Shoparoo which is also available in your App Store. Just simply search Shoparoo, download, create an account then start scanning receipts. Depending on your purchase, Madison Elementary will earn points (for groceries purchases and things of such) which turns into cash – or – sweepstake tickets (for all non-grocery purchases) for the monthly $1,000 school drawings and annual grand prize drawing of $15,000.00.
