Where can I find more information about the district and my child’s school?
You can find a wealth of information on our district website at
www.gocruisers.org. Each school has a webpage with a calendar, schedule, student handbook, information on breakfast and lunch, etc. A link to each school’s website is in the School Contact Information above.
I did not have my child’s updated shot records when I enrolled. Where do I turn them in now that I have them?
Shot records must be turned in to your child’s school office by the first day of school. You may drop the documents off during regular business hours or have your doctor fax the records to the school. Please note that the school offices are closed during July.
How do I know if my child can receive free or reduced-priced meals?
When will I receive my child’s bus information?Students who reside more than two miles from their assigned school are entitled to bus transportation. The transportation department publishes student bus routes online at least one week before the start of school. Parents can visit the bus route webpage (
https://www.gocruisers.org/BusRoutes.aspx) to find their child’s bus route. You will need your child’s student ID to access this information.
When will my high school student receive their schedule?
After completing the enrollment process, please call the GMHS main office (614-836-4964) OR the Counseling Office (614-836-4967) to schedule a ‘new student appointment.’ During this appointment, you, your student, and a school counselor will work together to review records and build your student’s schedule. A parent or guardian should be present. Please be aware that this meeting is required before your student can start school. Students new to the school will take a building tour before attending their first class.
What documents should I bring to my high school scheduling appointment?
Please bring a copy of your current high school transcript, most recent report card, most current class schedule, and any special services documents (if applicable). Without these documents, your student’s schedule may not accurately reflect their needs and will be subject to change. Although the school will request official documents from the previous school, records are rarely received before scheduling appointments. Copies of the records you bring to the appointment can be made so that you retain your own records.
How do I know what classes are available to my high school student? For a complete list of course offerings at GMHS, please review the most current Program of Studies. This document can be found online on the Counseling Office webpage at
https://www.gocruisers.org/CourseOfferingsGuide.aspx. Your student’s school counselor will work with your student to discuss courses that are still available at the time of enrollment.
