Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Nirote

Mrs. Nirote helps out in our tech center before and after school. She teachers our amazing CTE classes. In CTE, students do numerous hands-on activities including:

  • Simulations: where we use role-playing or simulation exercises to mimic job scenarios, allowing students to experience real workplace challenges. We did scenarios of working in a restaurant and being in the medical field by watching videos on how to do CPR and Heimlich.

  • Resume and Interview Workshops: we teach students how to create effective resumes and prepare for job interviews, providing them with essential job-seeking skills. Each student that takes CTE practices interview questions and leaves with a resume that they can carry to high school and add to throughout their whole high school and college career.

  • Career Exploration Projects: We assign research projects where students investigate various career options, required qualifications, salary expectations, and growth opportunities.

  • Mock Interviews: Students conduct mock job interviews, where they take on the roles of both interviewers and interviewees, providing valuable insights into the hiring process.
