Give Kids a Smile Program

In an effort to give back to the community, local dentists are willing to see children for free dental cleanings, exams and fluoride treatments on February 8 and February 28 through the Give Kids a Smile! program.

The Lewis Center Family Dentistry, 145 Green Meadows Drive S., Lewis Center, is planning to treat 30 children, ages 3-18 on February 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sedalia Dental, 5327 Hendron Rd., Groveport, is planning to treat 40 children, ages 3-9 on February 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

A school nurse, social worker, counselor, or other official must refer the children for the dental treatment so interested families should complete an application and return it to their school nurse promptly. Dental visits are by appointment only and the parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to the designated dentist.

Children seen through the Give Kids a Smile! program should meet any or all of the following circumstances:

  • The child's family has no private dental insurance
  • The child is not a current patient at a dental office or cannot afford dental care
  • The family is living on a limited income
  • The family is experiencing financial difficulty (could be due to divorce, illness, death, loss of job, etc.)
  •
To have your child considered for this program, please fill out the attached form and return it to your child's school nurse immediately. There are a limited number of appointments available.
