Health and Wellness

There has been an increase in illness in the school and the community. Please keep your student home if coughing, fever, sore throat, or overall feeling of feeling unwell. We are trying to keep everyone well.  We are seeing cases of RSV, strep throat, flu, and Covid cases. Although not as many covid cases as in the past, we are still seeing it and are trying to keep the students and the staff as healthy as possible.

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and sometimes the lungs. Symptoms may include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue, vomiting and diarrhea.

We need your help in trying to keep the school buildings open during this difficult time. Please talk to your children about proper handwashing, covering their cough and sneeze with their elbow, and using tissues for runny noses and throwing them in the trash. If your child has a fever over 100 degrees please keep them home. Do not give them medicine to contain the fever and send them to school, they are still contagious, and they will not be able to function well in school and learn. Students must stay home for a full 24 hours without a fever reducing medicine before returning to school.   We are also talking to your children about hand washing and taking extra sanitizing precautions here at school.
