In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, many classes were getting into the spirit of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students across multiple grade levels read Balloons Over Broadway by Melissa Sweat. Second grade writers created a drawing of a parade balloon they would want to see, and wrote a persuasive responses about how their balloon should be considered for future parades. Third graders in Mrs. Murphy's room made a video showcasing their balloons, while Ms. Fisher's class made balloons with papier mache and paraded them through the halls. The creative juices were definitely flowing in all our classrooms as students displayed their unique ideas and creativity in their work!
