RECOGNITIONS AND PRESENTATIONS  (02:25:22 mark on the YouTube Video)
Director of Instruction & Achievement, Carole Morbitzer, presented on the 2024 Teacher Toolbox Academy, a day of professional development sessions for teachers at Groveport Madison Schools. On Tuesday, August 7, the staff listened to speakers and participated in workshops on various topics including Amplify CKLA, utilizing AI in the classroom, and preventing escalating student behavior, among others.

Director of Innovation & Accountability, Mike Morbitzer, introduced the MCORE Foundation, a non-profit organization providing education and screenings for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in children and young adults. MCORE is partnering with Groveport Madison Schools on Tuesday, October 8, at GMHS to conduct cardiac screenings for students (29 slots available). The cost was originally $79 per student. The cost to GMS families will be $20. Mr. Morbitzer was recommending to the board that the school district find a way to cover the additional $1,711. At that time, Joy Bock, president of the Groveport Madison Local Education Association, stepped up to the podium to announce that GMLEA will proudly cover that cost.

Director of Student Services, Jaime Scott, answered questions for Board members for further clarification of items like residency affidavits and the McKinney Vento Act.

In a significant milestone in their ongoing commitment to educational excellence and employee welfare, the Groveport Madison Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to ratify a new agreement between Groveport Madison Schools and the Groveport Madison Local Education Association (GMLEA).

BUSINESS SERVICES UPDATE (4:12:26 mark on the YouTube Video)
Director of Business Operations, Dave Hausmann, provided his monthly business services update with an emphasis on playground safety involving the playground equipment maintenance. Recently, there have been concerns from parents regarding the condition of the district’s current playground equipment. Mr. Hausmann went over steps in regards to current maintenance protocols and what steps will be taken in the future to improve the safety of the district’s playground equipment.

Treasurer Adam Collier presented his monthly financial report.
