February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month! This nationwide celebration highlights the important role that CTE plays in preparing students for college and career success.
At Groveport Madison Schools, students begin exploring future careers as early as middle school. Through CTE classes like coding and career exploration, students build confidence in technology and career readiness. Teachers Andrea Taynor (MSC), Renee Nirote (MSN), and Brandon Thompson (MSS) engage students in hands-on activities that develop problem-solving and technical skills.

In high school, students can choose from four career pathways to prepare for their next steps after graduation. Construction Technology with Chadd Gibbs provides students with real-world construction experience by completing community-focused construction projects. Health Sciences with Shannon Clegg and Lamont Hampton prepares students for careers in healthcare through hands-on training and industry certifications. Information Technology with Michelle Hines equips students with essential computer skills and cybersecurity fundamentals. Finance with Stefanie Stevanus introduces students to financial literacy, business management, and accounting principles.
February is a great time to recognize the impact of career and technical education on students, communities, and the economy. By offering CTE opportunities year-round, we help students unlock their potential and prepare for bright futures in a rapidly evolving job market.
