Groveport Madison Schools (GMS) is proud to announce the opening of a New Story Schools location at their GMS-owned facility at 4500 S. Hamilton Rd., beginning Monday, January 12, 2026. New Story Schools is already an established partner school within Groveport Madison Schools’ network of resources, and this expanded presence will further strengthen the district’s ability to support students with unique learning and behavioral needs. This new site will provide specialized educational services and represents an innovative regional partnership designed to improve student services while strengthening collaboration among neighboring districts.

New Story Schools is a special education program that supports children and young adult students, providing a wide range of services that may include behavior management and training, applied behavior analysis (ABA), speech-language supports, transition programming, and individualized academic planning.

This Groveport-based location will operate in partnership with six neighboring school districts, including Pickerington, Canal Winchester, and South Western, who will send students to the Groveport Madison location and pay tuition to GMS. The program will be staffed by New Story teachers and coordinators, ensuring students receive specialized instruction and supports tailored to their needs.

Beyond student support, this partnership provides important opportunities for Groveport Madison educators and administrators to learn best practices firsthand from New Story’s specialized model and apply those learnings to enhance services districtwide.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of every learner while building capacity across our region,” said Jamie Grube, Superintendent of Groveport Madison Schools. “We are proud to work alongside New Story Schools and neighboring districts to serve students more effectively and efficiently.”

“We are excited to expand into Groveport and collaborate with Groveport Madison Schools and surrounding districts,” said Shannon Huber, Senior Director of Outreach Services at New Story Schools. “Our team is committed to building supportive, structured learning environments that help students thrive, while serving as a genuine partner to local districts and supporting students in the goal of successfully transitioning back to their home schools.”

The new Groveport location will deliver multiple benefits to Groveport Madison Schools and the community. By partnering directly with New Story Schools on-site, Groveport Madison will be able to expand and strengthen regional collaboration with neighboring school districts that will be sending students to the Groveport location. Additionally, the new site will result in significant transportation savings, as students who previously attended a New Story location near Sawmill Road in Dublin will now be served much closer to home. As an added benefit, the district will also receive discounted tuition rates from New Story for Groveport Madison students who participate in the program through this partnership.
