Congratulations to Deputy Superintendent Dr. Thomas Holdren, whose recent article has been featured in the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) Principal Navigator magazine.

In "The Principal Evaluation Illusion: Why High Ratings Aren't Raising Student Achievement," Dr. Holdren uses his doctoral research to explore how Ohio's principal evaluation system can better support instructional leadership and ultimately improve student learning. His article examines the difference between evaluations that simply measure performance and those that help school leaders grow through meaningful feedback and coaching.

Based on research involving principals and evaluators from across Ohio, Dr. Holdren offers practical ideas for making evaluations more impactful by focusing on professional growth and continuous improvement.

We're proud to see Dr. Holdren's work recognized at the state level and appreciate the insight and leadership he brings not only to Groveport Madison Schools but to educators throughout Ohio.

(We'd love to share Dr. Holdren's article with everyone, but Principal Navigator is an OAESA member publication. Out of respect for the organization's copyright and member benefits, we're unable to post the full article.)
