Welcome back to school! Madison Elementary welcomes you to a new and exciting 2011-12 school
year. It is my pleasure to begin the school year serving as principal again
this year. As we open the year we will see some new faces; whether it is new
students or even some new staff. If you are new to Madison Elementary I welcome
you and hope you enjoy your learning experience the excellent staff. We will
have a few new staff members to our building. Please welcome Kami Yeager
(intervention specialist), Justy Boggs (art teacher), Mychal Pittman (librarian). Along with the excellent staff we also have great students. I am proud to announce Madison Elementary has
been designated as an "effective" school for the fourth year in a
row. Our students and staff work very hard throughout the year and it is great
to see it has paid off with the test scores at Madison Elementary.
This year at Madison, you may notice a common theme. We encourage the students and staff to set
goals and strive to be the best we can be. While we recognize and achieve
goals, we also celebrate our accomplishments. Common recognitions at Madison
are birthday treat day (celebrated at the end of each month), MVP (student
chosen by a staff member on a weekly basis), team player awards (students
recognized for demonstrating random acts of kindness), perfect attendance each
month, quarterly awards regarding academics and positive behavior.
I encourage parents to become involved in the education of your student. We have
many activities scheduled throughout the school year. To name a few; we will
host a family fun night, lunch with a loved one, a movie night , skating
parties, classroom parties and more. The PTO (Parent Teacher Organization)
helps with all the fun and exciting events at our school. We would love for you
to be a part of the partnership. There will be more information about the PTO
and how to get involved. The information will come home with your student in a
red folder.
As we strive to be an excellent school, we value your partnership as parents
and feel it is important to have ongoing open communication. It is the key to
success! We hope the best for your student this year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Toledo |
