Report Cards from the Ohio Department of Education
Each year, the State of Ohio through the Department of Education issues a report card to each district based on the following measures of performance.

Indicators and Overall Ranking
To meet a test indicator for grades 3-8 and 10, at least 75% of students tested must score proficient or higher on that test.  Other indicator requirements are: 11th Grade Ohio Graduation Tests, 85%: Attendance Rate, 93%; Graduation Rate, 90%.

Performance Index
The Performance Index (PI) reflects the achievement of every student enrolled for the full academic year.  The PI is a weighted average that includes all tested subjects and grades and untested students.  The greatest weight is given to advanced scores; the weights decrease for each performance level such as proficient, basic and limited.  The PI can be compared across years to show district achievement trends.

Value Added
The Value-Added rating represents the progress a school has made with its students since last school year.  "Green" indicates greater than one year; "red" indicates less than one year of progress has been achieved.

Adequate Yearly Progress
Every school and district must meet federal AYP goals that are set for Reading and Mathematics.  These goals are applied to ten student groups:  All Students, Economically Disadvantaged Students, Asian/Pacific Islander Students, Black, non-Hispanic Students, American Indian/Alaska Native Students, Hispanic Students, Multi-racial Students, White, Students with Disabilities, (IEP) and Students with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).
